Youth Cooking Classes

Starter classes............$50

These classes are 30 minutes long. We meet once a week for 8 weeks. Each class includes a short story and food related lesson. Students will work on colors, numbers, texture, taste, fine and large motor skills. This class is designed for children between the ages of 4-7. Students use plastic knives and are NOT introduced to kitchen equipment at this stage.

Beginner classes..........$85

These classes are 90 minutes long. We meet once a week for 8 weeks. Each week students learn about different parts of kitchen etiquette. They work on measuring and cutting skills, oven and stove top skills, place settings and hospitality, as well as food safety. This class is designed for children 8 years old or older with little to no kitchen experience.

Advanced classes.........$96

These classes are 120 minutes long. We meet once a week for 8 weeks. Each week students will dive in to more complicated recipes. We "travel" around the world, meaning we focus on a different country and their cuisine. This class is designed for students who have completed the beginner course or who are 12 years of age or older and have some experience in the kitchen.

Decorating classes/Fieldtrips.........$25 per student

These classes are broken into two sessions that total roughly 4 hours. Classes must have a minimum of 10 students to schedule. These are scheduled on a Saturday with an arrival time of 3pm. Students are introduced to the concept of cake design. They will design, bake, and create. The first half of the session students design and bake. We then take a break for dinner while the cakes cool. (Dinner not included) After dinner students are welcomed back into the kitchen to discover new, fun techniques to achieve the design they created. Each student will leave with a single layer 6" cake.
